This is the Madonna song "Over and Over"
Programmed by Steve de Mena
CompuServe: 76327,1775
PAN: SJDEMENA
Originally sequenced for Yamaha TX81Z, Casio CZ-101, Roland TR-707 Drum
Machine and Roland JP-6 synthesizer
The Yamaha was set up with a Performance Memory to receive on
channels 10,11,12 and 13. The voices needed for each channel are
3-3-1-1. MIDI channel 9 was used for program changes. The
only command sent on channel 9 was program change #125 (125
is a Performance memory on my setup). After the 125 is sent all
program changes are sent over the individual channels 10,11,12,13.
The voices are preset voices. One special note: I wanted to use
D3 (KrstlChoir), so I edited the Program Change Table so that #1
equals D3.
The CASIO CZ-101 was set at MIDI channel 3 as the basic channel.
As it's in MONO mode, channels 4-5 are the other 2 channels used
throughout the piece. MONO mode is set automatically by the sequencer.
(Bar 1 of the sequence contains only MIDI messages. There are
MODE messages, MIDI volume messages and MIDI Pan Position messages
here and throughout the piece).
The ROLAND TR-707 drum machine pattern is in this sequence too.
If you have a different drum machine you should be able to change
the notes pretty easily with one of the TRANSFORM commands if
you have Seq+ MkIII. Here's how the TR-707's drum sounds are laid out:
OCTAVE 4
G # Cowbell
F # Tambourine
D # Cymbal Ride
D High Tom
C # Cymbal Crash
OCTAVE 3
B Mid Tom
A # High Hat Open
G Low Tom
F # High Hat Closed
E Snare 2
D # Handclap
D Snare 1
C # Rimshot
C Bass Drum 2
OCTAVE 2
B Bass Drum 1
This was saved with Seq+MkIII ZSAVE option and uses under 16
tracks.
